Educational goals of the International Winter School in Grid Computing 2010 are to:
  • Provide participants with the necessary theoretical background for practical exercises
  • Enable participants for using Condor, Globus, UNICORE and gLite
  • Direct participants towards available GRID services
  • Encourage collaboration between participants.

:: Curriculum

IWSGC'10 consists of four technology slots. Each technology is allocated a period of one week as its prime delivery period and a separate tutor.
  • Monday 1 - Friday 5 March: Technology 1: Condor
  • Monday 8 - Friday 12 March: Technology 2: UNICORE
  • Monday 15 - Friday 19 March: No events/training scheduled (student catch-up week)
  • Monday 22 - Friday 26 March: Technology 3: Globus
  • Monday 29 March - Friday 2 April: Technology 4: g-Lite

IWSGC'10 will consist of several live online events and asynchronous work in between. In order to successfully complete the Winter School, participants are obliged to attend at least 3 live events in their full duration.

There will be no tutoring during week Monday 15 - Friday 19 March (between weeks 2 and 3) due to the Open Grid Forum. Students should use this time to catch up with previous weeks work, or for a short break.
