:: Goals

Educational goals of the International Winter School in Grid Computing 2009 are to:
  • Provide participants with the necessary theoretical background for practical exercises
  • Enable participants for using Condor, OGSA-DAI, Globus, UNICORE and gLite
  • Direct participants towards available GRID services
  • Encourage collaboration between participants.

:: Curriculum

IWSGC'09 consists of five technology slots. Each technology is allocated a period of one week as its prime delivery period and a separate tutor.
  • Technology 1: Condor
  • Technology 2: UNICORE
  • Technology 3: Globus
  • Technology 4: OGSA-DAI
  • Technology 5: g-Lite

There will be no tutoring available during week 2-8 March (between weeks 2 and 3) due to the Open Grid Forum and EGEE User Forum. Students should use this time to catch up with previous weeks work, or for a short break. IWSGC'09 consists of 8 live online events and asynchronous work in between. In order to successfully complete the Winter School, participants are obliged to attend at least 4 live events in their full duration.
