The practical work at the Winter School will assume some prior knowledge and skills in certain areas. If you do not have these, then you will not be able to fully benefit from attending the School. Also the tutors supporting the practical work will not provide help with problems that are a result of a student not having that prior knowledge.
We will provide a number of prerequisite exercises which cover those areas. We expect all students either to be already able to do those exercises or to acquire, prior to the school, the ability to do so.
These exercises are part of the ICEAGE People Registry Assessment System which allows you to submit your solution to the exercise for validation. To access the details of these exercises, log-in to the assessment system using the same Username and Password as you use for editing and submitting your Summer School application.
Participants who fail to complete the prerequisite exercises will not be allowed to progress to the Winter School.
The prerequisite exercises will be open from 14th December 2007 and have to be completed no later than 16th January 2008.

When you log into the assessment system, click Assessments in the left tab, and you will find the list of all assessments. Find the following assessments and add them to My Assessments:

IWSGC08 - GILDA Certificate
Click on each assessment, and you can start working!

Deadline for completing all preparatory exercises is 16th January 2008.
Participants who fail to correctly complete all prerequisite exercises will not be allowed to progress to the Winter School.
