The International Summer School of Grid Computing series, inaugurated in 2002, is the premium e-Science training event in Europe and worldwide. Organised by the CNRS grid institutes and supported by the major e-Science players including: Condor, EGEE, Globus, NAREGI, OGF, OMII-UK, OSG, UK e-Science and UNICORE, it brings together world-class experts with 60-80 students from around the world, enthusiastic and ambitious researchers who have recently started or are about to start working on Grid or e-Science projects. Hundreds of students have been trained over the years who in turn brought about cultural changes in their own communities and disciplines. They have become innovators who create a future where e-Infrastructure or Cyber-Infrastructure supports research, society and the life of the citizen in ways which we are not even able to imagine.
