The practical work at the Summer School will assume some prior knowledge and skills in certain areas. If you do not have these, then you will not be able to fully benefit from attending the School. Also the tutors supporting the practical work will not provide help with problems that are a result of a student not having that prior knowledge.
We have provided a number of prerequisite exercises which cover those areas. We expect all students either to be already able to do those exercises or to acquire, prior to the school, the ability to do so. One of these exercises is to obtain a GILDA certificate (electronic authentication credential) - it is essential that you obtain this prior to the start of the School.
These exercises are part of the ICEAGE People Registry Assessment System which allows you to submit your solution to the exercise for validation. To access the details of these exercises, log-in to the assessment system using the same Username and Password as you use for editing and submitting your Summer School application.
The exercises can be accessed at: http://www.iceage-eu.org/issgc07/assessments/login.cfm
