Q: Do I have to pay the VAT (Value Added Tax) when I pay the
registration fee?
A: If you come from a country outside of the European Union,
you do not have to pay VAT.
If you come from a country of the European Union and you pay for
the fee yourself, you have to pay VAT.
If an organisation pays for your fee, the fee is VAT free.
Q: Is there any provision for financial support to participate
in the ISSGC'07?
A: The Summer School does not provide grants for students.
If students need financial support, they need to get information from
their university or organisation about ways to be funded.
Note that payment is in euros, but the Swedish currency is the Swedish
Kroner (SEK)
:: Accommodation
Q: Can I stay in another hotel?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot exclude accommodation from the
registration fee. The registration fee is an all-included price. The
curriculum of ISSGC'07 is very packed and the free time is organised
for networking and making friends. It is important that everyone is
on site. However, we are committed to accommodate particular needs to
the best of our ability.
Q: What do I need to do to have a single occupancy room?
A: You will be charged the extra cost, and single occupancy
rooms will be allocated depending on availability.
Q: Is it possible to arrange the accommodation so my partner / family
can come with me? What are the options?
A: It is possible at the school, provided there is space for all
the students and staff, and the full extra cost is paid. Please
enquire about costs.
:: Travel
Q: My travel connections are a bit of a problem. Do you have any arrangements
for people who need to arrive a day early and/or stay a day later?
A: If you need to arrive early or leave late, please let us know
and we will inform you about whether this will necessitate extra cost. We will
provide the necessary arrangements to the best of our ability.
Q: How do I get to the Summer School from Stockholm?
A: From whatever airport you will be arriving to, you will need
to go to the centre of Stockholm. You can take the train from Stockholm
Central Station to Läggesta, which is about 2 kilometres from the Summer
School. We are currently arranging ways to assist the students in Stockholm
and in Läggesta, and will inform you about details in due time.
:: Equipment
Q: What sort of equipment do I need to bring? What equipment
will be on site?
A: There will be laptops in the teaching room, one per
two students. You should bring your own laptop if you want to do
anything on a computer when others want to use those laptops for
the Summer School practical work.
Q: What type of adaptor do I need to bring?
A: Sweden has a current of 220V / 50Hz. Standard European
two-pin plugs are used.
:: Visas
Q: Do I need a visa to come to the Summer School?
A: Sweden is part of the Schengen Area, so you will need to apply
for a Schengen visa if you are a citizen of the following
countries
For more information, you can visit the Swedish Migration
website or contact the
Swedish embassy or consulate nearer to you.
If you require a visa, you need to ensure that you have a medical insurance
with full coverage
