Keyboard Navigation
In and efort to make navigation easier, Access Keys have been coded into these pages. Access keys are key combinations of the 'ALT' key and a specific character that select pre-defined page elements. When you have selected the link or element you may input a value or press enter.
Access Keys
- ALT+A: Puts focus on this (Accessibility) page
- ALT+S: Puts focus on the search Input box
- ALT+T: Puts focus on a text-only version
- ALT+.(dot): Selects the next page in the menu bar.
- ALT+,(comma): Selects the previous page in the menu bar.
Alt Tags
Images used on this website contain 'ALT' tags. These tags provide an alternative textual description of the graphical content. This data is used by text-only browsers or text-readers.
Text Sizes
This page uses Relative Text Sizes. This means a user can change the text size by doing either of the following:
From the Browser Menu
- View=>Text-size
Using a Wheel Mouse
- CTRL+Down Scroll (Towards you): Increases the text size
- CTRL+Up Scroll (Away from you): Decreases the text size
Overiding Page Settings
If you require to view these pages in a special mode, i.e High Contrast, Custom Style Sheet you may do the following:
In Internet Explorer 6
Select the following form the Browser Menu:
- Tools => Internet Options =>Accessibility
Ensure the following check boxes are checked:
- Ignore Colors Specified On Web Pages
- Ignore Font Styles Specified On Web Pages
- Ignore Font Sizes Specified On Web Pages
To use your own style sheet:
- Check format documents using my style sheet
- Specify the style sheet by typing in the input box or clickBrowse to open an 'open file' dialog box
To Apply these settings, click OK
In Firefox
Select the following form the Browser Menu:
- Tools => Options =>Content
- Under fonts and colours, Click the Advanced button
- Un-check Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above
- Click OK
- Click the colours button from the Options window
- Un-check Allow pages to choose their own colours, instead of my selections above
- To Apply these settings, click OK
There is no option to use your own stylesheet in this browser.
